August 20, 2019 //  by Amit Kumar

It has been made compulsory for international students to undertake the SAT when applying to the institutions overseas. The SAT is conducted four times in a year, from October to May. Typically test deadlines are a month before test month. Dates are about registration and the test day you can attempt the SAT at one of these dates, so plan accordingly.

14 March 2020 14 February 2020
2 May 2020 3 April 2020

Taking the SAT has its benefits, it will make you eligible to apply in various institutes at once, and you will also get a discount in admission fee, which will help you save a lot when applying, as test costs become very high when applying to multiple universities, also test preparation is free of cost. However, there are different strategies that you can use while preparing for SATs.

Preparing for the SAT will affect your performance in the test, which is extremely important if you are aiming towards getting admission to prestigious colleges and universities. Some strategies are discussed here, which will help you in getting the desired marks in the SAT exams.

The main strategy for getting good marks in SAT is the rule of 3Ps, Practice, Practice, and Practice, there is no alternative to the hard work, grind, and practice. Start with attempting questions you know and attempt difficult questions at the end, and remember to take the recommended amount of time for each question.

Try to make yourself comfortable with the duration and the type of questions by attempting test to full duration while practicing, try to simulate the scenario of the real exam.

Also, make a timing map for your test, it will enable you to manage your time, and It will also help you to remove any test-taking anxiety. You should consider getting professional help. You can get SAT preparation materials from various sites like Khan Academy, and satpractice.org.

Also, make sure that you attempt all the questions in the test. There is no negative marking in the SAT, so give yourself the liberty of attempting all the questions as it will increase your chances of getting good grades.

SAT scores are recognized for undergraduate admissions to various Indian and international colleges and universities, and even scholarships are awarded, taking the scores of the SAT as an important point in determining that who will get a scholarship at the time of admission.

Even if you find yourself unsatisfied with the results, try re-taking the test. SAT is conducted throughout the whole year, you can attempt it multiple times in the year. According to statistics, 63% of students improve their scores when they retake the SAT. The universities only want to see your best score, so make sure you do your best, even if it takes a second try.

Other than that, you can even pre-take the test in your high school year to get know-how about the Test. It will help you achieve good grades, and it will save you time too.
