This question is pretty hard to answer because it depends on a lot of things. However, writing can be as simple as “ABC” if intrinsic factors like “inspiration” and “requisite knowledge” of writing are present.

If you aren’t so much into writing, you might spend a slightly longer time in developing a 1000 word essay. The reason is not farfetched, and it is because you do not write often. Practice makes perfect.

You want to know how many words you have to write, how many paragraphs and pages it would span, and how long it would take you to craft your 1000 word essay, right? Don’t worry, and we will cover everything step by step.

Now let’s delve into it properly.

  • If you use Arial font with 12pt, font size and single spacing, your piece will span two pages.
  • If you use Times New Roman font, with 12pt, font size and single spacing, expect three pages.
  • If Calibri font, with font size ten and double spacing, plan an essay that is two pages long.

How Long is it? (By number of paragraphs)

Want to know how long a 1000 word essay is, in terms of paragraph count? Firstly, you must understand that certain factors, such as experience level and writing style, can play a crucial role in estimating the number of words or paragraphs in your 1000 word essay.

Refined essay structure suggests that an essay should have at least three paragraphs in the main section of the article, bordered by an introduction and a conclusion. Now, talking about standards, the intro and conclusion should be around 200 – 300 words each.

What does this mean? It means that the introduction and conclusion can carry an average of 150 words each. That is 300 words. The main section of the essay, with at least three paragraphs, can hold an average of 250 words, provided that you plan to write only there articles.

Technically speaking, on average, there are about five letters per word, 15 words per sentence, and seven sentences per paragraph.

While we cannot give a specific number of expected paragraph count for a 1000 word essay, it is crucial to understand this simple breakdown. Additionally, it is safe to say that each individual can perform the same writing task with distinct techniques, which can affect the overall length.

How long is it? (Completion time)

How much time do you need to spend writing a 1000 word essay? To answer this question, you must know that some factors can influence overall completion time.

Some of these factors are;

Prior knowledge of the essay topic if the 1000 word essay is such that requires your views about something that you are already conversant with, you need not do extensive research. You strategically organize your thoughts into a magnificent piece, saving time.

But if you have no iota of knowledge about the essay, then you would have to make Google your temporary home.

Conclusively, the quicker you get the needed information, the faster your essay will be completed.

1. Your Average Typing Speed

While requisite knowledge of the essay topic is essential, your typing speed is equally important as well. You discover that you possess too-notch writing prowess, but you are devoid of speed and accuracy when typing. This can affect your essay completion time. Conclusively, the faster you are when typing, the sooner your essay becomes a finished piece.

2. Your Writing Skill Rating

 This is where your writing techniques – vocabulary, grammar, and punctuation comes into play. Besides, some writers can rewrite a ten words sentence with just five words or less. That’s the work of useful vocabulary. If your vocabulary is secure and grammar is unquestionable, you will spend less time proofreading and editing your essay. This saves you time.

How Can You Achieve This?

You can achieve this if you create a proper structure for your writing. Even though your 1000 word essay is relatively short in contrast to some others, you still must ensure that it takes a standard formatting style. To do this;

  • Make sure you craft your introduction in such a way that it consists of 100 to 200 words.
  • Make sure the main section (body) of your work includes 600 to 800 words.
  • Make sure your conclusion consists of 100 to 200 words.

This way, you’re sure that your overall word count reaches the 1000 mark.

Conclusion

Justification for how long a 1000 words essay is spanned across several factors. We justified this by taking factors like typing skills, prior knowledge of the essay topic, writing capability, font type, and font size into consideration. In a bid to ensure adequate explanation, we looked at how you can quickly write a 1000 words essay by proving a simple break down.

Conclusively, if you plan to write a 1000 word essay, the elucidated points in this article can guide you to know what to expect, even before you start writing.
