Guide for International Students to Stay, Study and Work in Canada

September 19, 2019 //  by Amit Kumar

Everything you require to know about universities in Canada, a well-respected higher education system, inviting immigration schemes and a comparably easy path to post-study work possibilities are some that are most well-known. However, applying for a visa in Canada via online can be a complicated experience for the aspirants.

Information is the primary source for students who have a desire to study abroad. So, to study in Canada, the Canadian government provides official notice on matters asserted in its namesake through the website Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The official order of the IRCC issues from the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Act, which pronounces it is to promote the arrival of immigrants, provide camouflage for refugees and propose programmes to help newcomers settle in Canada.

For international students, as immigration is a comprehensive and different process, the IRCC’s website is naturally loaded with information on every step. To save your valuable time, here we have summarised the guide for international students to stay, study and work in Canada.

  • Study permit
  • Post-Graduation Work Permit
  • Key factors for Permanent Residence

Study permit

The study permit is a certificate that government issues which allows foreign nationals to study at Designated Learning Institutions (DLI) in Canada. It is essential for those who wish to pursue any course of duration for more than six months. It generally takes a maximum of 15- 25 days to decide on your application for a study permit in Canada. Post-Graduation Work Permit

The post-graduation work permit enables students who have graduated from a participating Canadian post-secondary school to earn valuable Canadian work experience. Work gained within the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program may strengthen your application to become a permanent resident of Canada. If the candidate’s passport expires before the validity term of the permit, it is permissible to appeal for a work permit expansion upon the renewal of their visa. Key factors for Permanent Residence

The key factor for permanent residence is immigration. It happens for a range of reasons. Weak economic activity and lack of job opportunities are also substantial push factors for migration. Other influential push factors involve race and distinguishing cultures, political fanaticism and exploitation of people who doubt the status quo. While pull factors are the reasons why people are fascinated or attracted to a particular field, they are usually voluntary migrations: better services, pleasant climate.
