Express Entry: Ontario Issued 699 Invitations for PNP Candidates

Ontario has issued 699 invitations for Express Entry candidates to apply for permanent residence with work experience in one of nine occupations. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is drawing invited applicants who may be qualifying for the HCP System of Express Entry Human Capital Priorities.

In the latest round of invitations, candidates with work experience in the following nine occupations received Notifications of Interest (NOIs):

  • Financial managers (NOC 0111)
  • Other administrative services managers (0114)
  • Advertising, marketing and public relations managers (0124)
  • Financial auditors and accountants (NOC 1111)
  • Other financial officers (NOC 1114)
  • Professional occupations in business management consulting (NOC 1122)
  • Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses (NOC 3012)
  • Other primary health practitioners (NOC 3124)
  • Dieticians and nutritionists (NOC 3132)

To receive an invitation from Ontario, Express Entry candidates who had at least one year of work experience in Canada, needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of between 358 and 439. Candidates with work experience in Canada got a total of 167 NOIs.

Many of the invitations were given to candidates who had work experience outside the country. A total of 532 of the invited candidates have done the required foreign work experience. These candidates needed score from 471 to 500 in the CRS.

Candidates needed to have profiles in the federal Express Entry system first to be invited.

This involves 250 temporary staff nominations in intermediate skilled occupations or skill level C in the National Occupational (NOC).

A nomination from a Provincial Nominee System (PNP) practically ensures that an applicant will obtain an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent Federal Express Entry draw for Canadian permanent residence. This year Ontario is allowed to nominate 7,600 main applicants.

It manages candidate profiles for Canada ‘s three highly qualified Federal Economic Class Immigration programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates receive points based on their human capital attributes, such as age, job experience, employment, and ability to speak languages.
