€3 Billion ‘Erasmus+ Program’ Now Open for 2020 Proposals

Highly skilled aspirants from the European Union have an excellent opportunity to apply for the €3 Billion Erasmus+ Program for 2020 Proposals. The call is open for projects supporting mobility and cooperation in education, training, youth and sport for 2020.

The Erasmus+ Programme is designed to support Programme Countries’ efforts to efficiently use the potential of Europe’s talent and social assets in a lifelong learning perspective, linking support to formal, non-formal and informal learning throughout the education, training and youth fields.

 The commissioner for education, culture, youth and Sport (Tibor Navracsics) said, “I am very pleased that in 2020 the European Union is set to invest more than €3 billion in Erasmus+,”.

Nine million people have participated in the Erasmus+ program since it was launched 30 years ago. It provides participating organizations and individuals with a comprehensive list of opportunities supported by the programme.

Here are some important facts for participating in this program:

• The program will offer a wide range of organizations, including universities, education and training providers, think-tanks, research organizations, and private businesses.
• Erasmus+ has opportunities for people of all ages, helping them develop and share knowledge and experience at institutions and organizations in different countries.

Eligibility Criteria:

If you are interested in taking part in this program, then you are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:

• Any public or private body active in the fields of education, training, youth and sport may apply for funding within the Erasmus+ Programme.
• Also, groups of young people who are active in youth work, but not necessarily in the context of a youth organization, may apply for funding for learning mobility of young people and youth workers as well as for Strategic partnerships in the field of youth.
• The following Programme Countries can fully take part in all Erasmus+ Programme: the Member States of the European Union, the EFTA/EEA countries: Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway and EU candidate countries: Turkey, North Macedonia and Serbia.

Program Benefits:

• The implementation of this call for proposals is subject to the availability of the appropriations provided for in the draft budget for 2020. The total budget earmarked for this call for proposals is estimated at EUR 3 207,4 million, which will be awarded as follows:

1. Education and Training: EUR 2 943,3 million
2. Youth: EUR 191,9 million
3. Jean Monnet: EUR 14,6 million
4. Sport: EUR 57,6 million

• The level of grants awarded as well as the duration of projects varies depending on factors such as the type of project and the number of partners involved.

How to Apply

All organizations and individuals are invited to submit their application online to the National Agency in the relevant country, via the Erasmus+ forms website, or to the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency.

Supporting Documents

The Erasmus+ Programme has various supporting documents for individual participants as well as organizations.

• Model Application Forms: Templates of the application forms to be filled in by applicants wishing to participate in activities supported by the Erasmus+ Programme.
• Model Grant Agreements: Templates of the grant agreements to be signed with the beneficiaries of Erasmus+ funding.
• Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education: A document outlining the general framework for cooperation activities to be undertaken by a higher education institution in Erasmus+.
• Erasmus+ Student Charter: A document provided to students selected for Erasmus+, informing them of their rights and responsibilities during their Erasmus+ placement.
• European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS): ECTS is a credit system designed to make it easier for students to move between different countries.
• Inter-Institutional Agreement: These agreements are established by higher education institutions participating in Erasmus+ for mobility activities for students or staff.
• Learning Agreement: Outlines the programme of studies or the traineeship to be followed by a student. It must be signed by the sending and receiving organizations, as well as the student or trainee.
• Mobility Agreement: Sets out the programme of teaching or training to be followed by a staff member. It must be signed by the sending and receiving organizations, as well as the staff member.
• Mobility Charters: The Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter is intended to encourage organizations that have track records of proven quality in organizing VET mobility for learners and staff to develop their European internationalization strategies further.
• European Voluntary Service Charter: A document outlining the core values and standards expected from organizations taking part in EVS opportunities under Erasmus+.
• Erasmus+ Volunteering Activities Info Kit: A pack designed to provide organizations and individuals taking part in Erasmus+ with the information they need to take part.
• Erasmus+ for schools Brochure: For those interested in knowing more about the Erasmus+ programme, this brochure explains what the programme can offer to schools.
• Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility – Handbook for Higher Education Institutions: It provides information on the essential documents, rules and guidelines of which interested organizations need to be aware.
