Canada Offers 100,000 Express Entry Invitations by the End of 2020. Despite the pandemic of coronavirus, Canada is in the process of breaking its Express Entry record.
In 2020, The Government of Canada is on track to issue 100,000 or more express invitations. If something like that happens, then it would be a good thing to consider at the time of COVID 19 Pandemic.
Before March 2020, immigration Minister Marco Mendicino revealed that Canada is planning to have 341,000 new permanent residents in 2020. Plan for Canada’s immigration levels for the year 2020-20222 set a goal to accommodate 91,800 migrants through Express Entry to Canada.
Express Entry is the primary path that Immigration, Refugees and Canada (IRCC) handles economic class immigration applications. The economic class accounts for approximately 60 percent of all new immigrants accepted by Canada last year.
Canada realized in mid of March because of the Corona Virus Pandemic that it needed to take certain steps to control the coronavirus, limiting access to the country. This has contributed to great confusion for the system of immigration. Canada’s immigration levels collapsed in April 2020 and remain low.
Many individuals who have already obtained confirmations of permanent residence (COPR) are actually unable to move to Canada for several different reasons. Some people have, for example, expired COPRs and cannot go to Canada. People who obtain their COPR after March 18 are also actually barred from visiting Canada because of travel limits.
After all, it was a nice surprise to learn about the ongoing Express Entry draws, which occurred two weeks since the pandemic.
At the beginning of the pandemic, it was thought that the Express Entry draws could be stopped momentarily or less, but the exact opposite happened
Instead, we see record-breaking Express Entry draws from Canada, clearly suggesting that Canada continues to tolerate high immigration levels after the pandemic is over. The biggest Express Entry draw ever held in Canada on October 14, 2010.
This was only one of two cases on which Canada welcomed 4,500 Express Entry Applicants to apply for permanent residence (ITAs). These applicants will now apply for a permanent residence and, if they are now abroad, will finally be able to build their lives in Canada after the limitations on coronavirus travel for COPR holders have been relieved.
To date, this year, Canada has released 82,850 Express Entry ITAs in this year. Drawing sizes were recently given between 3,900 and 4,200 invitations per draw.
If things go according to schedule, Express Entry draws will be carried out by IRCC on October 28, November 11, November 25, December 9, and December 23.
If IRCC invites 3,900 candidates for each of the other five Express Entries in 2020, by the end of the year, the Commission will issue a total of 102,350 invitations.
Though lesser and IRCC issues an average of 3,500 ITAs per draw, by the end of 2020, Canada will remain in excess of 100,000 ITAs.
So, what is that all about?
Once again, Canada is committed to accepting more immigrants in order to help its economy amid COVID-19 disruptions. It also notes that IRCC claims it will process applications for permanent residency within a reasonable period. For 80% of applications, IRCC’s Express Entry processing standard is six months or less.
One can also read between the lines and conclude that the greater the draws is an indicator that IRCC expects good applicants to join Canada by 2021, otherwise what is the point in inviting them now?
Another chance is for IRCC to have more draws as Canada has limited its intake of refugees temporarily as a result of the pandemic. Canada planned to host almost 50,000 refugees by 2020, but that would no longer be the case. The greater the overall draws will also rely on other economic class programmes such as the Provincial Nominate Program (PNP), Quebec immigration programmes, and other federal programmes that, as a result of COVID-19, will also be below their immigration targets in 2020.
One thing is certain. In other words, when IRCC announces its 2021-2023 immigration levels plan at the end of October, they will provide us with a more detailed picture of their express entry targets.
Express Entry is increasingly likely to remain strong in 2021 and beyond for Express Entry, and total immigration targets gave the recent record break.
