Artificial Intelligence Writing Competition 2019

The Center for Legal and Court Technology is presenting the Third Annual International Writing Competition. International students and also students enrolled in law school part-time are welcome to participate.

CLCT aims to assist all members of the legal profession, from courts and government agencies to judges and lawyers. It works to improve the administration of justice through the use of technology, so that mission to improve the world’s legal systems through the appropriate use of technology.

So, let’s get started! Don’t waste your precious time and participate in this competition as soon as possible. Wish you all the very best!!

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The Competition is open to international students, in good standing, enrolled in a law degree a Master’s degree or a doctoral degree.
  • Students enrolled in law school part-time are welcome to participate.
  • Applicants enrolled in law school part-time are welcome to participate.

Participants Requirement

  • Papers must be written in English.
  • The papers may not exceed 3,500 words, including titles, texts, citations, footnotes, appendices/annexes, Bibliography, etc. Papers that exceed this limit will be disqualified.
  • Papers must be e-mailed as a word processing file type that can be easily opened with Microsoft Word.
  • The text of the submission must be single-spaced, justified paragraph formatting, and in twelve-point font, Footnotes should be single-spaced and in the ten-point font.
  • In computing the number of words, all words, including articles and prepositions, should be counted.
  • Papers must be e-mailed as a word processing file type that can be easily opened with Microsoft Word.

Application Process

  • Only one submission will be accepted per student. If CLCT receives more than one paper from the same author, none of the student’s submissions will be considered.
  • Through this link, all Entries must be submitted via e-mail to this e-mail address essaycompetition@lists.wm.edu no later than 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time.

The Prize for this competition is

  •  The first prize for this competition is $2,500
  • The second prize is $1,500,
  • The third prize is $1,000.
