Apple Announces its First-Generation College Student Mentorship Program

Apple introduced a new Launch@Apple mentorship program this month, which is intended for first-generation college students, with the program scheduled to launch in early 2021.

It is aimed at first-generation first-year college students and sophomores who are majoring in finance, mathematics, economics, business, data analytics, and accounting, according to a PDF that describes Launch@Apple.

It matches one-on-one college students with Apple mentors who are able to include learning resources and professional growth opportunities, with the potential of job shadowing, paid internships, and paid internships.

Launch@Apple was not publicly announced by Apple, and it is not entirely clear how to spread the word. This morning, MyHealthyApple shared details, and a LinkedIn post highlighted the program last week. Apple is accepting applications from students with a wide range of GPAs before launch starts in early 2021.

Students must be with a parent or legal guardian in their first or second year of college who has not obtained a college degree. In a “fast-paced, innovative environment” students must want to learn about finance and must aim to major in one of the accepted disciplines.

Through Friday, January 8, 2021, Apple accepts applications. Students who want to participate must provide school information, GPA, resume, and more, and are required to answer personal questions about life challenges, why they should be accepted, and what gives them happiness. You must send requests to launch@apple.com.
