ABC Cambridge will Cover Non-EEA Visa Costs

ABC Cambridge has announced a new program that would allow non-EEA students to continue to study at its English language school in Cambridge as part of European Union school groupings.

Following changes in immigration restrictions due to Brexit, the FAVA initiative will see ABC cover the cost of visa applications for non-EEA school pupils who want to attend a trip with their EEA-based school.

The school’s managing director, Ben Whittaker, stated, “ABC Cambridge aims to respect equality, diversity, and inclusion in assisting students from worldwide learn English.”

“We are convinced that people from minority groups and those who do not have EU-registered travel credentials should have the same access to educational excursions as their peers, at no additional cost.”

Non-EEA students residing in the EEA or Switzerland will be required to seek visas for school excursions, even short programs, as a result of immigration law changes regarding the ‘list of travelers’ in October, following the UK’s exit from the EU.

According to the English school, the change will cause complications for many students and families and a price that could exceed the cost of the trip.

With this in mind, and if certain members of a visiting party need to apply for UK visas, we’d like to give financial assistance,” says the spokesperson. Whittaker continued.

“We believe that agents and client schools will see this program as a positive step by ABC to support children who might otherwise be unable to participate in such an important educational travel experience.”

The initiative will be available to groups between October 1st, 2021, and December 31st, 2022, and will be extended depending on the economy and changes in UK immigration laws.
