A Scientific Conference to be Attended by International Students in English

Recently, international students took part in a seminar online. The annual Students Scientific-Practical conference was on the topic “WeSpeakLegalEnglish, German, Spanish, French, Chinese.”

Seminar on foreign languages for international students

The RUDN Law Institute organized a scientific conference for international students recently. The conference was on “WeSpeakLegalEnglish, German, Spanish, French, Chinese.”

Students of international relations participated in the seminar. They performed in the seminar wholeheartedly. All the guests were satisfied with the performances and congratulated the organizers.

It is not the first time that RUDN Law Institute has organized this kind of seminar for international students. They have managed this seminar for the first time in 2011. And they have continued organizing this seminar annually every year.

The discussion subject varies from foreign languages to international law to professional ethics to legal translation, etc. Sometimes the seminar also discusses the relationship between law and language. It is a subject that is not often discussed on the university campus.

What is the relation between law and language? How does one affect the other? What are the professional ethics you need to maintain in a job? When thousands of fresh graduates are unemployed, it is imperative to know the professional ethics and protocols. Knowledge is power. It can help students to crack interviews and get a job. There is stiff competition among students. Students have to prepare themselves in the best possible manner for securing a job during the COVID-era. The conference is likely to help all the students get an edge over others when reserving a professional world.

Usually, the seminar is organized in an auditorium every year. Honorable delegates and international students attend the workshop every year. International students look forward to the conference with eagerness and curiosity.

The pandemic has brought many changes in the world.

It has changed the financial scenario of countries across the globe.

It has affected the career and education of international students big time.

It has led to a financial loss of the foreign universities and colleges with international students staying back home. It has banned international trips in several countries. It has also led to a lockdown for the second time in the US and UK. More than anything else, it has disrupted the regular course of life worldwide.

Initially, it was thought that the seminar wouldn’t be organized this year due to the pandemic. As it is, there are tremendous restrictions on international trips. Many countries are still not allowing international students to enter foreign universities. The problem has accelerated to such an extent that many international students have stopped paying the fees due to the low quality of education.

However, despite so many challenges, the RUDN Law Institute organized the seminar virtually, and it was a grand success.

Delegates of the conference acknowledged and praised the performances of international students. They have even invited international students to participate in the Annual Spring Conference on Language. Culture. Translation.” International students, on their part, appreciated the online conference. They felt that the content of the reports was well researched and articulated. The friendly atmosphere of the virtual conference appealed to the students. All in all, the conference in a remote format received thunderous applause from the delegates and the international students.

The seminar presented two reports in English.

The first one was on the language of official documents as the reflection of the US Arctic policy. And the second one was on the Difficulties in Translating the Names of Legal Professions. If you have not attended the online conference despite being invited to it, you should not worry. You can read the abstract speeches from the conference materials. You will get the materials soon. So. you can still understand what happened at the conference.

International students need more conferences like this

When millions of international students are spending lazy days and quiet nights at home, seminars allow them to exchange their ideas on a global platform. They get an opportunity to discuss subjects that are usually not part of their University syllabus. They get professional guidance on various matters. Plus, in the question and answer session, international students get an opportunity to ask questions to industry experts and get practical answers.

Seminars and workshops give a platform to international students to discuss their problems with industry experts and find a practical solution. Everybody knows that international students faced a lot of issues in the last one year due to COVID-19. These seminars and workshops help to motivate students, discuss their problems and solutions.

The scientific conference is significant from yet another respect. Discussions on legal matters, language barriers, and cultural differences help international students to feel united. They can learn new things and broaden their horizon. Most importantly, this seminar promotes friendly relations between the participating countries, which is extremely important for maintaining global harmony and peace.

Conclusion

Covid-19 has taught us many things. It has taught us that a work from home option is possible even for jobs where physical presence is considered necessary. Everything is virtual now. We do not know the future of this kind of seminars and workshops. But one thing is for sure. Online conferences are a lucrative option for international students across the globe.

Barring the time difference due to different time zones, the benefits of online conferences are many. The cost of organizing online seminars is cheap. International students and delegates do not need to travel anymore. As such, the organizers can save a lot of money on traveling expenses. As the pandemic remains abated, we do not know when people can travel without being worried about getting infected. Online conferences allow international students to gain industry insights into foreign languages and cultures without leaving their homes. So they can save not only their health but also money.

Industry experts and senior delegates are extremely busy people. Sometimes, several people skip the seminars due to lack of time. But if these kinds of scientific conferences are done online, then it is expected that a massive number of industry experts can attend them.
